Information about lewiston ambulance..
Dedicated to excellence in quality pre-hospital care to people in the heart of Winona County.
The Lewiston Volunteer Ambulance was established in 1974. It has grown throughout the years, and the service is now responding to around 240 calls per year. Total coverage area consists of 125 square miles which include the Cities of Lewiston, Utica, and Stockton. Lewiston Ambulance also responds to the townships of Hart, Hillsdale, Fremont, Warren, Utica, and Norton in Winona County. In 2005 a full-time Ambulance Director was hired. This position handles the day to day operations of the service, runs the EMR Training Program, teaches CPR and also responds to emergencies Monday-Friday 6am-6pm. Lewiston Ambulance provides Basic Life Support, and works with Winona and Gold Cross Ambulances along with Mayo One and MedLink Air when Advanced Life Support is necessary. The crew currently consists of 23 volunteer EMT Basics, 2 First Responder/Drivers and 1 Driver. We will be hosting our 3rd Annual EMS Week Event in May of 2013.
