Rushford Emergency Services Need YOUR HELP!

 The flashing flooding that occurred on August 18 and 19^th in southeastern Minnesota destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses.  Communities were literally cut off with walls of rushing water that washed away highways, railroad tracks, utilities, water & waste systems –anything within its path!  Especially hard hit were the counties of Fillmore, Houston, and Winona.  While state and federal agencies are assessing the damages, residents are working non-stop to rebuild their lives.

 The SE Minnesota EMS is asking the emergency community to help one of their own!  The Rushford Ambulance Service and the Rushford Fire Department & First Responder Squad sustained major damage to their buildings, equipment, and vehicles.  An ambulance, rescue truck, and tanker were lost in the disaster along with most of their medical supplies, turnout gear and equipment.  The ambulance garage and fire station also sustained major damage.  Majority of their members who have always been there to help others have lost their homes, vehicles, pets and personal belongings.  While some assistance is available through FEMA, we need YOUR help to rebuild this community’s every day heroes!

 We have set up a fund at the Rushford State Bank for the Rushford Ambulance Service and Fire Department.   ALL of the money will go to rebuilding these services and their members’ lives!!
